![]() Poker Game TableDoes a proper poker table make that much difference? Playing poker is fun - hey that's why we play it right? But if you're playing regular home games you can make it even more fun by investing in a proper poker game table. PLaying on a dining table is all well and good, but dealing can be a pain (especially if you're at the end) since the cards don't slide properly. You may also find it harder to riffle shuffle, and "washing the cards" like they do in the casino is not only tricky, but can scratch the faces of the cards. Playing on a proper poker game table however, properly covered in baize makes dealing and playing a real joy. Sitting down at a proper poker table, even if it's in your own kitchen or living room, really feels like sitting down to a "proper" game. It transforms a simple game of poker into an event, and somehow makes many players take the game a little more seriously. Types of poker game table If you're thinking about investing in a poker table you have several options. If you have the money and the room then a full sized casino style table with a full rail just can't be beaten. However, most players simply don't have the room for such a large piece of furniture, and probably don't play enough to warrent one anyway, but don't worry because there are several other options. A poker table top is a playing surface which folds out and is placed on top of a normal dining table. They are cheaper than a full table, and pack up small when not in use. They are also quite portable, so you can take it with you if you're playing at a friends house. If you don't have a solid dining table then a folding poker table might be a better solution. Like a poker table top these fold away relatively small, but they also have their own folding legs so they are free standing. Finally, the octagon poker table is great if you don't have a lot of space. They are small and compact, but you can still easily fit 8 players around one and they come with or without legs. They do have less space than a standard shaped table though, so you'll need to keep your drinks and snacks off the surface, but that's not a bad thing! |
